Love Socks it to Commodores, Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, April 22nd, 2027 It was a sensational day at the plate for Patrick Love as he led the charge to a 9-7 win over the Commodores. The Baylor second baseman was pure misery for the Vanderbilt pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Love put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Javier Cervantes, manager for the Commodores, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Patrick Love singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
