Going Once! Twice! Gone Again! 3 HR for Guzmán
Tuesday, May 2nd, 2028
Texas Tech Red Raiders right fielder Arthur Guzmán put on a dazzling display of power today at Siebert Field against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. In the 10-0 Red Raiders victory Guzmán penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Minnesota manager Jorge Rivera said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 20-year-old had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Guzmán said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Arthur Guzmán singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Michael Hutchins in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mitch Dawson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Roberto Díaz in the 7th and walked in a run in the 8th.
To date this season Guzmán is hitting .370 with 13 home runs.
