Vargas No-Hits Salem Thursday, May 25th, 2028 Luis Vargas was just plain nasty on the mound today, overpowering the Salem Sledgehammers in a complete game no-hitter. The right-hander used his signature change up to perfection as the Surrey Sinners waltzed to a 9-0 win. "He was what the kids call 'filthy,'" losing manager Greg O'Day said later. In an dominant performance, Vargas faced 29 batters in all and finished the game with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks. "After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," Vargas said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff."
