Hong Shuts Out Nashua
Monday, June 26th, 2028
State College Spikes starter Hsin-pei Hong really did a number on the Nashua Redlegs today, shutting them out 4-0 on 5 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 2 walks and had 15 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," Nashua manager Bill Meisner. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of pretty good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Hong."
This year Hong has made 16 starts, thrown 95.2 innings, fanned 78 batters and walked 47. His won-lost record is 4-6 with a 4.61 ERA.
