García Goes 5-for-5 Against El Paso
Tuesday, September 14th, 2027
Athens second baseman Miguel García had a big day at The Guild today against the El Paso Texans. The 21-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Assassins to a 4-3 triumph over El Paso.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," García said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Miguel García singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Carlos Díaz in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
In 56 games this season García has batted at a .324 pace with 55 hits and 2 home runs.
