Hot Bat Cooled, Ingram Hitless Against Assassins Sunday, July 25th, 2027 The hitting streak that State College right fielder Mike Ingram had going was ended today by the Athens Assassins. Ingram, who had hits in his previous 20 games, was stymied today, but the rest of his team picked him up, earning the Spikes a 3-0 victory at Dirty South Park. He was hitless in 4 at-bats. "Hitting streaks come and go. One good thing came out of it, however, it perked up my batting average a little bit, but did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with the streak always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." To date this season Ingram is hitting .341 with 10 home runs. |
