Great Stroke: Sterling Gets 5 Hits Sunday, September 17th, 2028 BlackIron first baseman Vernon Sterling had a big day at Paradise Park today against the West Virginia Power. The 24-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Dragons to a 14-11 triumph over West Virginia. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Sterling said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Vernon Sterling hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
