Key West's Padilla Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Thursday, September 2nd, 2027
At Wrangler Stadium today, Héctor Padilla of the Key West Barracudas put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled the Wichita Wranglers pitching staff, but Key West still came up short on the scoreboard.
The Barracudas went home with the 9-8 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their shortstop.
"Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Padilla said in the postgame interview.
Héctor Padilla singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Fred Villa in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Luis Pérez in the 8th.
For the year Padilla is batting .333 with 4 home runs.
