Sterling Collects Player of the Week Award Monday, August 28th, 2028 Vernon Sterling is respected by most BlackIron Dragons fans for his no-frills style of play. The 24-year-old first baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Southern League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .467 average (14-for-30) with 3 home runs, 12 RBIs and 6 runs scored. This year Sterling has hit 11 home runs and posted a .250 batting average. |
