Stover Torches Border Guards for 5 Hits
Tuesday, June 27th, 2028
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Jason Stover said his club's tilt with the Bismark Border Guards "felt almost like batting practice." The 21-year-old right fielder went a remarkable 5-for-5 at the plate.
"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.
However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Bismarck Barons, who were topped by the Border Guards, 8-6.
"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Barons manager José Martínez said. "Sometimes Jason is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-5 and lose than go 0-for-5 and lose."
Jason Stover singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Adrián Sandoval in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Stover is batting .387 with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs. In 8 games he has scored 3 times.
