Hitting Streak Still Alive for Geddes
Tuesday, June 27th, 2028
Houston's 31-year-old first baseman Frank Geddes has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today Geddes extended the streak by going 1-for-6 against Trappers pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Geddes always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Hammertime 9-6 triumph over Spokane at Bill Robinson Field he downplayed his part in the victory. Frank Geddes flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José Ortíz in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
Geddes is hitting .402 this year with 17 home runs and 59 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .490, 22 walks and scored 40 times.
