Prawns Chill Campbell's Hot Streak
Wednesday, August 30th, 2028
Texarkana first baseman Billy Campbell came into today's game against the District 9 Prawns on a hot streak. When it was over, the Prawns did their job very well. They beat the Texarkana Bears 5-1 and cooled him off at the same time. District 9 stopped Campbell without a hit and his 24-game hitting streak came to an end.

The 31-year-old Campbell only had a few words to say after the game, "I had a chance to do it and I came up short."

His manager commented, "What Billy did was exciting and quite an achievement. It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 24 games in a row. I'm really proud of him. And I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

In 118 games this season Campbell is batting .277 with 126 hits and 20 home runs. He has scored 64 runs and driven in 71.
