Going, Going, Gone! Perkins Hits 3 Homers Friday, July 21st, 2028 Whatever Matt Perkins ate for breakfast before his game against the Richmond Flairs today, it gave him some impressive power. The Blueville second baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Delorimier Stadium. His home run barrage led the 83's to take the 15-9 victory over the Flairs. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-5, scored 4 times, drove in 5 and put on a display that history will remember. Matt Perkins hit a two-run home run off John Smith in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Sandro Gonzáles in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Frank Martin in the 8th and walked in the 9th. So far this year Perkins has hit .314 with 6 home runs, 40 RBIs and 60 runs scored. |
