Chikafuji Slams 5 Hits for Texarkana
|
Texarkana left fielder Taki Chikafuji had a day to remember today, 5-for-6 against the Santa Monica Bruins at Jackie Robinson Stadium as the Bears picked up a 16-2 victory.
"He was patient up there today," Texarkana skipper Chris Hall told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Chikafuji has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
Taki Chikafuji singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Scotty Johnson in the 5th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season Chikafuji is swinging the bat at a .268 rate with 37 hits in 138 at-bats. To date he has hit 2 home runs, scored 29 runs and driven in 13.
