Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Gardner Saturday, September 4th, 2027 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Marv Gardner did it again. He bashed 3 hits in today's game and for the last 20 games in a row has collected at least one hit. The 19-year-old Quincy third baseman extended his streak as the Doughboys beat the Elkins Sting Rays 13-1 at Ballpark of Elkins. Marv Gardner hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Melvin Johnstone in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This year Gardner has hit at a .366 clip with 28 RBIs, 11 home runs and 28 runs scored. |
