Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Martínez Monday, May 3rd, 2027 Rafael Martínez ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Ballpark of Bethlehem HS, when he collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends. But I'm not happy when we lose the game," Martínez said after Evans HS was beaten 8-7 by the Temiskaming District Secondary School Saints. "The scoreboard tells the whole story," Evans HS manager Manuel Calderón told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits we had." Rafael Martínez singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Maurice Chappell in the 4th, walked in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. Thus far this year Martínez is batting .427 with 11 home runs, 33 RBIs and 31 runs scored. |
