At the age of 18, the Bishop Verot HS first baseman has been named the winner of the High School CL Outstanding Hitter Award. He had a .486 batting average and a .566 on-base percentage this year. In 40 games he piled up 86 hits, 13 doubles, no triples, 15 home runs, 67 RBIs and 60 runs scored. "I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year." Weldon Bell of the John Jay HS Patriots finished second in voting, while Kevin Carter of the Oliver Ames HS Tigers finished third. |
