Santa Fe HS Gives the Old Heave-Ho to Manager Echevarrķa Tuesday, June 8th, 2027 Jorge Echevarrķa had heard the murmurs, but didn't think much of the ongoing rumors of his own firing. That is, until he arrived at the ballpark today and found out he had been terminated as the manager of the Santa Fe HS Chiefs. "You read the newspaper, you hear people talking, you hope it won't happen and when it does, it's pretty tough to actually lose your job," said the distraught Echevarrķa, only a few minutes after learning he had been terminated. "It's never easy to take, but you've got to try to grin and bear it. Like they say, 'you are hired to be fired.'" Several players came by Echevarrķa's office to say their goodbyes and offer hugs and well wishes as he packed his belongings. "He was well-respected in the clubhouse, but in the end we need someone who is going to bring better results," said Santa Fe HS's general manager. |
