Sánchez Slams 3 Deep for Providence Sunday, May 30th, 2027 Providence Friars third baseman Miguel Sánchez had a magnificent game against the Connecticut Huskies today, rocketing three balls out of J.O. Christian Field to help the Friars take the 11-5 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Sánchez went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Providence manager Ánibal Pérez said later. "Seems like Miguel found his home run stroke today." Miguel Sánchez walked in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Billy Jones in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Salvador Jiménez in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Broderick Hallamore in the 9th. Sánchez is hitting .422 in 2027 with 68 RBIs and 23 home runs. |
