UCLA Closer Hurt
Thursday, May 27th, 2027
Steve Webb is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the UCLA organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 6 months with a torn labrum. The 19-year-old closer suffered the injury throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
This year Webb has delivered 10 saves. In 19 relief appearances, he has 25 strikeouts in 16.2 innings with a 5.94 ERA. His season won-lost mark is 0-1.
