Blast Off! 3 HR for McCormick Saturday, April 10th, 2027 Every now and then, everything just comes together. Matt McCormick discovered that today at Shirley Povich Field, as he smashed three home runs during the 15-3 Georgetown Hoyas win over the Providence Friars. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Georgetown right fielder said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." McCormick finished the day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats and 5 RBIs. Matt McCormick singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Enrico Velázquez in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jesse Hairston in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off José Hernández in the 8th. Thus far this year McCormick has hit .368 with 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. |
