Ward Sensational, 5-for-7 Tuesday, April 28th, 2026 Jeremiah Ward told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Ward of the Penn State Nittany Lions did against the Kansas Jayhawks. He went to the plate 7 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a 20-19 defeat. "Not much I can say," offered Ward in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Jeremiah Ward hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Paul Blair in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. A look at his current stats shows Ward with a .306 average, 9 home runs, 24 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has played in 26 games. |
