Brown Parks 3 HR in the Seats Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 Illinois catcher Allen Brown sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Brown predicted he would hit a home run against the Michigan Wolverines. During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Fighting Illini over the Wolverines 11-5. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Brown told reporters after the game. To go along with the homers, he collected 3 RBIs and scored 5 runs. Allen Brown hit a solo-shot off Bryce Morgan in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ralph Holman in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Christian Holloway in the 9th. This season Brown has 5 home runs and a .239 batting average. |
