Thompson Stretches Hit String to 25 Friday, April 10th, 2026 Mississippi State right fielder Eric Thompson keeps on racking up hits in every game he plays in. His hitting streak now stands at 25 games after collecting 4 hits in today's game. "I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out. I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've been a little lucky," said Thompson after the Bulldogs 10-5 victory over the Fighting Irish. Eric Thompson singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off John Parker in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. In 10 games this season Thompson is batting .450 with 18 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 11 runs and driven in 11. |
