Guevara Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Tuesday, July 13th, 2027 Even as a kid, Carlos Guevara said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Gentry Field today, Guevara showed how well he learned that lesson. The 25-year-old second baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Beaverton Bronze Souls, helping his team knock off the Kenosha Kingfish by a score of 12-8. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Carlos Guevara singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
