Lee's Summit Hurler Wins MSL Outstanding Hitter Award Thursday, October 21st, 2027 Not only has Jeff Sandusky been named winner of the 2027 Midwest League Outstanding Hitter Award, he's done it at an age when many of his peers are still trying to establish themselves in Midwest League. "I feel fortunate to win this award at age 22," he said. "I feel like I still have my best years ahead of me. Hopefully I can put my name on this trophy a few more times." The Lee's Summit Tigers ace had a 13-6 record over 33 starts and 179 innings. He struck out 242, issued 46 walks and had an impressive 1.76 ERA. Batters hit only .195 against him during the season. Juan Caceres of the Plumstead Eagles finished second in voting, while Marcos Flores of the Lee's Summit Tigers finished third. |
