Bemidji Loses Juan Ríos, Will Miss Season
Thursday, September 2nd, 2027
Bemidji starting pitcher Juan Ríos could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Erie game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Ríos would be out 10 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

This season Ríos has a 0-1 mark in 0 starts with a 9.00 ERA. He has given up 20 hits in 15 innings, struck out 16 and issued 9 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .317 batting average against him.
