Weeks on a Tear, Hits for Cycle
Saturday, August 7th, 2027
Kel Weeks truly did it all at Murray Bros. Memorial Park today.
The Minnesota Death Stars shortstop hit for the cycle -- collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- as he paced his club to victory, 11-5 over the Barry's Bay Orioles.
"You know that sweet sound you hear when you hit the ball just right? I heard that every time today," Weeks said later. "It was a heck of a feeling."
It was a game good enough for him to make a little history. He bombed Barry's Bay pitching for 4 hits in 5 at-bats and his name will now go into the record books. Weeks also racked up 5 runs batted in and 1 run scored in the game.
Kel Weeks hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Dan Mitchell in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
So far this season, Weeks has recorded a .238 batting average with 92 hits, 9 home runs, 53 RBIs, 36 runs scored and a .328 OBP.
