Super Swinger -- Brown Slams 5 Hits
Thursday, July 29th, 2027
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Doug Brown today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Pullman Park and paced the Overrated Jeter to a 13-1 win over the Butler White Sox.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Penquannock catcher told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Doug Brown flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year Brown has socked 125 hits in 397 at-bats for a .315 average with 18 home runs. He is getting on base at a .388 pace and his totals also include 77 RBIs and 67 runs scored.
