Nichols Gets Shutout
Wednesday, August 4th, 2027
Trevor Nichols of the Montgomery Biscuits spun his magic on the West Virginia Power today. He blanked them 10-0 on 3 hits, registering 10 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Nichols said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Montgomery skipper Carl Jones said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Trevor pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
Presently Nichols has a 6-7 mark in 8 starts with a 5.36 ERA. He has given up 106 hits in 99 innings, struck out 125 and issued 40 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .270 batting average against him.
