Sánchez 5-for-5 for Wranglers
Sunday, August 1st, 2027
After his 5-hit effort at The Lair was tarnished by Wichita's 8-7 loss to the BlackIron Dragons, first baseman Alfredo Sánchez told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is pretty nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 25-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Dragons.

"His swing is getting there," said Wranglers skipper Jorge Ortíz after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Alfredo did that to perfection today and we wasted it."

Alfredo Sánchez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Marcos Miranda in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Eddie Huber in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and was hit by a pitch in the 10th.

Sánchez is currently batting .342 with 10 home runs and 58 RBIs.
