August's Top Starter Named in PCL Wednesday, September 1st, 2027 Over the past month Riley Johnston has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Pacific Coast League. He proved all that and now he's been named August's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the Santa Monica Bruins posted 5-1 mark and a 2.27 ERA. In 6 starts he tossed 35.2 innings, permitted 35 hits and fanned 48 batters. Johnston has made 27 starts so far this year and put up a 11-5 won-lost record with a 5.12 ERA. In 130 innings he has allowed 157 hits, walked 46 and struck out 148. |
