Perales Blisters Santa Monica
Tuesday, August 31st, 2027
Raśl Perales was at the head of a San Jose Missions hit parade today at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The 29-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Santa Monica Bruins that marched off with the 17-7 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Missions skipper Kip Rasmussen following the game. "Raśl did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and and we didn't do it pitching."
Perales did more than fine, dominating the Bruins at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging left fielder told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Raśl Perales singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season Perales is swinging the bat at a .240 rate with 31 hits in 129 at-bats. To date he has hit 5 home runs, scored 23 runs and driven in 14.
