Stars McBride Smacks 5 Hits Tuesday, August 31st, 2027 Las Vegas first baseman Ryan McBride went down swinging at Mile High Field today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Stars fell, 9-8. "It was like I was hitting little league pitching," McBride said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Mile High Broncos. "No offense meant to Mile High, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the first baseman's improvements, saying McBride spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," McBride agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Ryan McBride singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in a run in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 9th and doubled in the 11th.
