5-for-5 Day for Smith Saturday, August 21st, 2027 Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day, so it was a special occasion for Isotopes's Bob Smith at Burns Field today. Smith put up a 5-for-5 line against the Calgary Cowboys, swinging the bat with authority all day in spite of his club's eventual 11-9 loss. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Smith said after the game. "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but it's pretty disappointing to lose." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name in the record books. Bob Smith singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Luis Trujillo in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
