Season Ends for Rusty Herbert of Spokane
Monday, August 9th, 2027
Spokane second baseman Rusty Herbert could miss the remainder of the season because of a ruptured medial collateral ligament. He exited yesterday's Vancouver game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Herbert would be out 7 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Herbert is presently hitting at a .245 pace with 3 home runs and 33 RBIs. He has played in 73 games and scored 39 times.
