Hounds Chill Francis's Hot Streak Wednesday, July 21st, 2027 Norm Francis, second baseman for the Amarillo Archdukes, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 5 tries against the Indiana Hounds. Not only had they stopped his 22-game hitting streak, they had beaten Amarillo 14-3, too. Speaking with the media after the game, Francis said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." This year Francis is batting .334 with 146 hits, 9 home runs, 61 RBIs, 53 walks, .410 OBP and has scored 89 runs. |
