Zimmerman's Hit Streak Over
Monday, June 14th, 2027
Tuscaloosa right fielder Pat Zimmerman came into today's game against the Birmingham Barons on a hot streak. When it was over, the Barons did their job very well. They beat the Tuscaloosa Trout Slayers 3-1 and cooled him off at the same time. Birmingham stopped Zimmerman without a hit and his 25-game hitting streak came to an end.

The 25-year-old Zimmerman only had a few words to say after the game, "I had a chance to do it and I came up short."

His manager commented, "What Pat did was exciting and quite an achievement. It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 25 games in a row. I'm really proud of him. And I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

Zimmerman is hitting .429 this year with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 28 at-bats, 1 walk and a .452 on-base percentage. Zimmerman has played in 7 games.
