Maez 5-for-5 for Summit
|
The Summit whipped the Torchmen 22-3 at Field of the Torchmen and Julián Maez had a big hand in the win. The Summit first baseman came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Maez and a tough day for Tacoma HS.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Maez delivered today -- 5-for-5 is outstanding in any league. Julián Maez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Benny Christopher in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
This season Maez is batting .325 with 51 hits, 6 home runs, 31 RBIs, .435 OBP and has scored 41 runs.
