Tropics Take Close Win Over Looters
The Maui Tropics did just enough to sneak past the New Orleans Looters, 4-3, at Rainbow Stadium. Maui pitcher Ronald Cotton earned player of the game honors. Maui reliever Yong-taek Yi picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Tadao Yoshida was collared with the loss. Luis De Los Ángeles finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Maui took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Matt Silver hit a clutch solo home run to bring Tropics fans to their feet.

Silver told a Maui Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

The Looters, now 5-2, have been pitiful so far.
