D-Bags Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Jersey Shore D-Bags got the win.
The Jersey Shore D-Bags got a good effort from starter Roland Martin in defeating the Austin River Sharks at Greendale Community Field. The final score was 4-2. Martin, now 6-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Paco Gutiérrez converted his 6th save in 6 tries.
Making an impact for Jersey Shore was second baseman Eugenio Lucero. He drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, Lucero was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Martin said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
Austin, at 20-39, has lost 4 straight.
