The Plymouth Rocks satisfied the home crowd at Play Rocks Field, treating them to a season-opening win, 4-3, over the Niagara Falls Frenzy. Starting Pitcher José Martínez was named player of the game for Plymouth. Plymouth reliever Rubén Martínez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Esteban Juárez took the loss.
Taylor McFarland was a key contributor to the win for the Rocks. In the bottom of the ninth with two out, the light-hitting shortstop stroked a double to right-center. He was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"It was a good effort all around," said McFarland.
