Clayton King of the Hill, No-Hits Redlegs
|
Excitement reigned at Ballpark of Huntington Beach today as Kenosha Kingfish hurler Nick Clayton tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.
After defeating the Nashua Redlegs, 1-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.
"I'm just glad to be here," Clayton said. "Today I just went right at the Redlegs as hard as I could, as long as I could."
Clayton chalked up 14 strikeouts and allowed no walks in his superb performance.
"I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said Kenosha manager Arturo Trujillo.
