Newell was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Kyu-pyeong Pak was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Springfield bumps their record to 35-16 with the win.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Newell, who is tied for 7th in the CL in triples with 3, hit a run-scoring triple. It propelled the Stars into the lead, 2-1.
