Donaldson, Knights Too Much for Tropics
|
The New York Knights defeated the Maui Tropics, 10-5, at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. New York left fielder Troy Donaldson was named player of the game for his superb performance. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. New York, at 18-27, occupies 4th place in the National League Eastern Division.
Jacob Pope went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for New York. In the bottom of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 4-4, Pope delivered for the Knights. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put New York on top, 5-4.
Pope said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
