|
The Birmingham Steeldogs handed the San Francisco Bandits a sound defeat, 11-3, at Bay View Park. José Rivera was a main contributor to the win. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Birmingham. Manuel Romero picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 6 in 6 innings. The Steeldogs, at 8-33, sit in last place in the National League Southern Division.
In the top of the second, Orlando Aguilar hit a 2-run double for Birmingham. The 5th double of the season for the Birmingham third baseman put the Steeldogs on top, 2-0.
"Nice to get this one," said Aguilar. "Wins have been hard to come by."
