Daniels Helps Fresno Outscore St. Louis
|
In a high-scoring contest between Fresno and St. Louis, designated hitter Jeff Daniels was a difference-maker. Daniels, who is tied for 2nd in the CL in hits with 62, earned player of the game honors in the 14-10 Fresno win. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Butch Ramey, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. The third-place Deplorables improved to 25-15.
Keith Beard was one of the major contributors to the win for Fresno. The light-hitting center fielder stroked a single to center in the bottom of the sixth inning. For the day, he was 1-4 with a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"We got the victory," said Daniels. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
