Wiggins Slugs Henvy to 4-2 Win
|
Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the New York Knights and So Cal Henvy.
The So Cal Henvy dealt the New York Knights a 4-2 loss at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. Earl Wiggins was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. So Cal reliever Stanley Inman picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. José Gómez shouldered the loss. Mike Drader closed the door for So Cal, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Wiggins had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from José Gómez, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Henvy a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Wiggins.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Wiggins told the So Cal Herald.
Losses have been few and far between for the Knights, who are now 3-1.
