Rocks Squelch Tropics Offense in Shutout Win
|
José Ortíz pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Maui Tropics, despite Ortíz's fine outing, dropped a 3-0 decision to the Plymouth Rocks at Rainbow Stadium. Plymouth reliever Scot MacIntosh picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. José Ortíz was saddled with the loss. The second-place Rocks are now 25-12, the Tropics 15-23.
Barrett Waters helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a solo home run to give Plymouth a 1-0 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Waters.
