Donaldson, Knights Too Much for Gang Green
|
The New York Knights stymied the Irvine Gang Green, 6-2, at The Ballpark at Irvine. Troy Donaldson, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for New York. New York reliever Vic Watts picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cris Rincón took the loss. Paco Ruíz got the save, the 8th for him this season.
New York first baseman Marvin Harris helped the Knights to the win. In the top of the fourth inning, the 28-year old first baseman stroked a 2-run home run. For the game, Harris was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Donaldson.
New York, at 15-20, occupies third place in the National League Eastern Division.
